Evaluation

During this term my group and I worked on a bullying video. After working on it for weeks, I believe we came up with a pretty good video at the end. Our project was succesful, as we covered all of the steps needed to be done. We all put our efforts into making this video effective, and meaningful to the students of Qatar Academy. We used our time wisely through out this project, as we were all intrested in seeing the final video we have done. I did all of the things needed on time, so that I would keep up with the work needed to be done in the future. For example, I would write up my process journal everday after the class was done, so that I wouldn’t forget what I have done that day. I pasted my process journals into my blogger, so that Mr.Jones would be able to see them.
Before starting this project we each had to design some scenes. For example we had to draw examples of what we were going to act during the video, while drawing them in small boxes. We had to draw about 3-4 different photos from different angles, showing what we will be filming. And under each box we had to explain what was happening in that specific box. After finishing from desigining, we moved onto the planning, were we had to plan what the video is going to be about, and what we are going to do in the video etc. For example I wrote how our video was going to be about bullying, and what sort of bullying we are going to add into our video; such as cyber or verb bullying. And lastly after we were done from planning, we eventually began creating our video. I believe that I could have improved on some areas of the planning, such as being more specific, and adding more detal about what the video is going to talk about, and what other people are going to obtain from it. Other than that I believe I did a good job on fullfulling the Design, and Create.
While working on this project, I believe that there were a couple of things that I did well on. For instance I was the camera man in many sceneros, and well I liked the job of filming from diffent angles, and putting effects into it, such as zooming in and out. I also think that I did a good job in helping make a bullying song, which we put in the end of our video. Although there were also a couple of things that I could improve on for future referencess, such as putting a bit more effort in helping the group while editing the video, as most of the editing was done by Yazan Abu Ghaida. I don’t think that there is anything I would do differntly, and that is beacause first, the group was perfect; as some of us were actors, singers, camera men, and so on. Second the group was perfect together, we were all like brothers and sisters, and we helped each other by giving advice.
My predicted time plan actually didn’t fit at all with the actual project process, and this is because we had many changes as we started filming. We came up with more ideas while filming, which took us more time while filming the scenarios, than actually editing the video on the computers. This made my predicted time plan change quite a lot. Although there were several times which came perfectly with my predicted time plan, for instance; one of my predicted timings was one class for writing a process journal, and that lesson I actually did finish one whole process journal during that lesson. My group and I faced couple of difficulties. These were finishing our editing in time, as we had to present it to the Counsler (Ms.Liza). We put all of our efforts in finishing as soon as possible, and because we tried our hardest, we reached our aim that we were looking forward to, and that was finishing the video in time. After showing the video to our classroom, and to the counsler and Mrs.Boulanger, we got some possitive feedbacks in return. Our colueges in the clasroom admired the video, and so did the Counsler. They told us how good it was, as it showed the aim of it. They also enjoyed the song we made up, and inserted at the end of the video. They thought it was a great idea, instead of just simply going onto the internet and downloading songs, which are not even ours.
The project had a huge impact on myself, because it actually showed me how bullying is wrong! The video made me think of real bullyies and how bullying can sometimes lead to death! This is why I think it had a huge impact upon myself. I believe that it had an impact on the other people which watched the video to. As they also felt the same feeling as I did. The project had an impact on the environment/society to. It relates to how real life bullies act upon the people being bullied. This is why my group and I added several points through out the video, which pointed out what the bully should do, and wha the person being bullied should do to help him self.
This is what my group and I have been working on for the past term now, and I believe we presented a marvelous video, which really helpe a lot of people.

Process Journal 3

Filming was very successful, we used two different cameras, taping the same scenario using different perspectives of the scene, this was because we wanted to be able to switch between shots when we were editing after wards. We asked Holly for some of her spare time so she could play a few roles with us, we all acted and had a lot of fun. However we made sure we were to stay on task and not mess around, we wanted to avoid distraction and get the job done as quickly as possible, since from past projects we remembered that editing was the process that had always taken longest. We had all of our filming done in only a few lessons, and are now still in the process of editing the video. Our final scenario that we had filmed was a scene of verbal bullying, in a bathroom. Hend played the role of the victim, as Doaa and Holly are gossiping by the bathroom mirror, Hend walks in as the new student. Doaa and Holly notice her walk in and start commenting negatively on her appearance, and Hend gets very upset. So far, our project is going very well and we have almost all of the final product done, and only a few more scenes to add. Every member of the group contributed great amounts of effort, and I'm proud of the work we have come up with.

Process Journal 2

We haven't finished filming, but to conserve the camera's memory, we had imported the movies from the camera into iMovie, and went on to continue filming. This time, we were filming our second scenario which was, again, physical bullying. Holly played the role as the victim, while Hend and Doaa were the bullies. This scene shows Hend and Doaa, who are friends who walk by Holly and push her down. They turn to each other, laugh, and continue as Holly picks up the books that she had dropped as she was pushed down. We used Holly for this scene specifically because we know her for being able to portray the role of a sad character, and her acting was good. One view was filmed from the balcony area just infront of the library, and another just infront of the characters. We mostly used the overhead view, as it was what made the scene clearest to us. We will begin editing after doing only one more scene.

Process Journal 1

Today was the first day of filming our project, we have everything planned and all of our actors are ready for our recording. We took our cameras and started out on our filming by recording what our group had decided to be our introduction. We used a puppet stand in the school foyer, and shots cut between Hend, Doaa, Talal and I, each of us saying one of the words: Say no to bullying. We then moved on to our first scene which was about physical bullying. This was also shot in the foyer, and I was playing the bully, and Talal was the victim. The scenario was about me walking past him, pushing him down, and continuing as if nothing had happened. We both fit in to role and our first shot was perfect enough to go for final editing and no re-takes were necessary.

Children growing up online

Children say that the internet is addicting as they can do anything they want on it without anyone seeing what they are doing. They say that the internet is essential, because everyone uses it to chat with each other. Some parents found out that there son had a relationship on the internet. A group of friends gather together, and get there monitors just so that they can all play video games together.

The enternet is a place to complain about parents and a place to connect with people around the world. Parents always complain about how hard it is to control what there children are doing online, and thats why most of the parents these days complain and wonder about what there children are doing online. Everyone uses the enternet, and as most parents say that there children depened, and live there life online. People complain about how when they go for holidays there children cant let go of there phones for one second, they are always texting there friends, but they dont have time for there family.

Technology 2009

Why video games are bad for us:

1)Video Games Can Be Addictive
2)Video games can be expensive
3)Video games can hurt relationships
4)Video games can be distracting
5)Video Games Can Rob You Of Real Life Experiences

Why video games are good for you:

US scientists have found that regular players of shoot-em-ups, such as Half-Life and Medal of Honor, have much better visual skills than most of the population. The researchers have shown that gamers were particularly good at spotting details in busy, confusing scenes and could cope with more distractions than average. The two scientists also found that with a little game playing the visual skills of anyone can be improved.

I believe that children should be allowed to play video games whether they are on the computer or on the playstation, although i do think that they should only be allowed to play for a set amount of time, so that they do not get distracted with it, and so that they can actually do other things, than always sitting down, and playing games.

These days more games are being produced, and i believe this is bad because it is distracting the children from doing other, better, and healtheir things in there lifes, such as playing sports. sitting down with there family, and even working on there homework.

This is what i had to say about technology, and the impacts it has on the children of our generation.
